par for the course

If I'm not cleaning up a mess - something is wrong with Jakers.

Sophie participated in the West High Poms Fall Clinic. When it was over she said she wished it could be more than 2 days - it's so much fun. She loves participating and I love watching her. Here's a video of her dance routine. She starts out the routine third from the left.

 Love WHP

 Call Me Maybe.

Of course she was with her bestie Emerson.

Strike a Pose.

Pumpkin Patch Take 2

One pumpkin patch just wasn't enough! We headed out to Bloomsbury Farm on Sunday and it was well worth the drive. Only bad thing - the concession stand closed before I could get a funnel cake. Dang it.

Holy Cow!

Bouncy Pillow was a huge hit.

Jake LOVED the animals. He kept yelling - OHHHH.

 Cute little man.

They had a slide that was fast and hurt my bum. I did not enjoy the experience.
Jake liked it of course.

 As well as Sophie!

 Tire Maze.

And of course the traditional How Tall Am I picture.

Diamond City

Nanna and Grandpa joined us for dinner last Friday night. Grandpa spent a majority of the evening helping Sophie create Diamond City.

This is Diamond City. She's very proud.

Nanna helped Jake with a puzzle - one of Jake's favorite activities these days.

Sophie decided Jake should also be decorated in tape.
If it means getting to hang out in Sophie's room - Jake's all in.

Pumpkin Patch

Going to the pumpkin patch is my favorite fall activity! We didn't go where we normally go but still just as much fun. This year Sophie actually got to cut the pumpkin from the vine - she loved it. Jake loved playing in the corn bin.

Girl Scouts

Sophie is officially a girl scout. She's been pretty shy the two times we've had a meeting/event but always excited to go. Last night the troop went to the Iowa Women's Volleyball game. The scoreboard and ice cream were more exciting than the actual volleyball but still fun.

She's pretty cute in that vest.

Dad and Jake tagged along.

I guess Eddie was very thirsty.

Happy Birthday Grandma Linda!

Happy Birthday Grandma Linda! Hope you have a great day.

 Little birthday celebration on Sunday.

Em and the family stopped over Saturday for a visit.

Hard to tell if they're brother and sister... NOT!

Boy did something catch their attention.

Tuesday Night

Just a normal Tuesday night...

Headed for the wheat thins... busted!

 Helping Mom clean the floors.

Mike's senior picture pose... wouldn't be the same without the fake kid glasses.

WHAT???? They're both smiling.

Jake was all about helping Dad out last night with the spare tire.

My brother-in-law just made my day. I've been trying for a few weeks now to download a new template to blog. It wasn't going so well. So I asked Nitro for some help and it was done in less than 5minutes. Finally I can move on with my life :-) Thank you Nitro - you rock!

On a side note - why is it that cats always find the person that is allergic to them or hates cats. Always! Sorry Nitro - Eddie appreciates it though.

Such a funny kid...

And she knows it.

This picture is from a few weeks ago but forgot to post. Play structure is done and all the kids in a 5 mile radius love it.

Homecoming Parade

We love going to the homecoming parade. Last year Sophie got to be in the parade - this year it was all about the candy. The music, floats and friends are so much fun.

Killing time waiting for the parade to start.

I really wanted Sophie to wear her Hawkeye cheerleader outfit - she told me maybe next year.

Jake was having a great time before the parade started. He was a little freaked out by all the noise once the floats started coming by. Of course the suckers helped him forget about all the loudness.

Those bags were completely full of candy!!!

Hanging out with Dad and having some breakfast.

So this is what happens when you have a 5yr old that never stops talking and you're trying to pretend like you're hanging on every word. Poor Jake! Sophie was laughing so hard when she saw I forgot to take off his socks. MOTHER OF THE YEAR!
